1999 saw the arrival of S Club 7 later S Club and believe it or not they never had a number one song in Australia, they came close by peaking at No. 2 twice and No. 3 once.
It was a great time, those who needed a Pop music kick had Backstreet Boys, Aqua, B*Witched, S Club 7, Five and many more to satisfy music needs and there are five S Club 7/S Club songs that I like to listen to regularly and so here they are.
Bring It All Back
The song that started it all, it’s a fun, happy song and those are the songs that get your attention, and it did well enough in Australia to get to No. 3 on the charts a great start for the group.
I’ve had this theory that songs that start with music for a bit before getting into lyrics is usually a hit, this song seems to support that theory.
S Club Party
S Club Party, absolutely love the music video, got to love those cars though those rocks look really familiar, there ain’t no party like an S Club Party.
Got to feel sorry for the group though, the lines they had to say in the extended version of the music video must have made them cringe though no doubt people used some of those lines in the future.
Two in A Million
Two in A Million, don’t we all wish that we get to be in that situation when somebody thinks we’re one in a million though we really want to be one in eight billion so there is nobody else.
It is more of a serious song compared to the previous two tracks, it actually only got to No. 25 in Australia which is somewhat surprising.
Never Had A Dream Come True
Never Had A Dream Come True was another song that didn’t get a whole lot of attention though it is one of their best, S Club 7 did have a barren 2000 in terms of hits with only two of the three songs charting and this one didn’t which is surprising but maybe it just didn’t have the sound, or it was a lack of promotion.
Songs like these really show if a group or members of a group have a talent, and it is safe to say this song proved that they did.
Don’t Stop Movin’
Released in 2001, this song was their last Top 10 hit in Australia, their last four charters up to 2003 would struggle to make the Top 75 songs.
It’s a great song, energetic like several of their hit makers and that’s probably what made their Top 10 chart return happen after two years outside the ten in Australia.
It is the perfect song to end my five S Club 7/S Club choices.
